Our Holidays

We are home from our wonderful holidays spent in the beautiful Okanagan. It was great to see and visit with all of our family and friends.
We left Friday, and got to Edmonton and grabbed some lunch and started to head out. We didn't get far, when all of a sudden we noticed our tire was feeling weird and we pulled over to find that a huge round piece of wood had made a hole in our tire. Thankfully, there was a Kal Tire exactly where this all happened, so we gave a call to Brad (who works at the main Kal Tire in Vernon) and he got our car worked on right away. Thanks Brad :) After getting all patched up we headed out again onto the open road. I love road trips...

The hightlight of our holiday was of course the wedding of my brother Jason to my new sister Darcie. They both looked so happy and Darcie looked gorgeouse. To celebrate their wedding, we took Darcie out for a bachlorette party on the Thursday before the wedding.

And onto the wedding....It was a beautiful day and I am so happy to have a new sister. Here's a picture of all the Weglo sisters...

Cutting the Cake

The week had a bittersweet ending. We had to say good-bye to Jason and Darcie who will be living in Toronto for the next four years. But the exciting thing is that Josh and I gained a new member to our family. Jason and Darcie couldn't bring their dog Emmett to Toronto with them, so let us watch him for the new few years. So meet Emmett, who is such a great dog, and will definitely be keeping us in good shape :)
He was so good on our long drive home. The poor guy was cramed in our small little car, so was very excited any chance to got to get out and run around.

We stopped at Mount Robson park for lunch. I think Emmett was pretty excited to stretch his legs.

Now were back at home, continuing the big job of renovating our house. There is still so much to do, but it's slowly coming along. I promise to post some pictures soon!

I'm finding myself waking up every morning these days saying, "ok, tonight I have to go to bed earlier!" But every night it's always as late as the night before, if not later.... We've been quite busy with working on our house, and visiting with friends and family, that the days don't seem long enough!
Josh is finishing up his last week in his 2nd year apprenticeship program. As soon as his exams are done on Friday, we're packing up our car and heading to Vernon for my brother's wedding. I'm so excited to have a week off, and I get to spend it in the beautiful Okanagan! We're really looking forward to seeing everyone again, and celebrating my brother's wedding.
Onto other exciting news, Josh's sister Rachel got home on Monday from being in Germany for a year. She's home for awhile and then heads back to Germany again for another year in August. She landed late Monday night, got hardly any sleep, then was leading worship for a ladies night at the church on Tuesday night. What a crazy girl. We could start to see her jetlag catching up to her early on in the evening, when she joined Jesseca and I making cookies at the church. Here are some pictures from the evening. Can you tell all of us were pretty tired, and giddy :)

So here we are, just mixing along. Jesseca and I were a team, trying to make better cookies then Rachel. If you look closely, you'll notice Rachel's dough is looking a little funny.

Jesseca and I start to realize that our cookie batter looks so much better and therefore, we'll have the better cookies.

Goofing around

We started to notice Rachel's cookies looking a little FLAT! I knew the batter looked a little funny :)

We'll blame it on the jetlag Rachel. We love ya and we're happy you're home!

This past weekend, Josh and I made another trip into Edmonton for our good friends Josh and Jessica's wedding. We also got to see my sister and her husband Brad who flew in on Friday night for the wedding. You know it's a good weekend when it's filled with lots of shopping, krispy kream donuts, visiting with friends, some good dancing (none from Josh of course), and not too much sleep :) It was great to hang out with Brad and Sarah again, and see so many friends from Vernon. What a great weekend!

I got to see my friend Carey, who I hadn't seen since her wedding last August!
