Well I’m home from a wonderful visit with Brad and Sarah and my nephew Isaac. He is the cutest thing ever! I am so thankful that I could live so close and be apart of this exciting time in Brad and Sarah’s life.

I think Isaac was getting a little upset at all the pictures :)

I love Isaac in this picture. Looks like he's doing some Kun Pow moves. We look really tired though :)

Lillian's Party

Last night we threw a party for our friend Lillian. We’ve been blessed by her and all that she does for us. She’s thrown me and my friends surprise parties, planted a surprise flower garden in my front yard, dropped off potatoes on my deck for the winter…and the list goes on. She has been such a blessing in our lives, so Jesseca, Charity, and I decided that we should throw a “We love Lillian” party to show how much we appreciate her. We decided to have a cowboy themed party and we all dressed up like cowboys and cowgirls. It was so much fun!

Charity was our Sheriff. She made sure we didn't get too rowdy :)

I must be the favorite sibling…Look what Sarah made for me when we came to visit this weekend.

HOMEMADE PEROGIES!
(My mouth waters every time I see this picture)

Josh and I made a trip this past weekend to visit with Sarah and Brad…probably the last before the baby comes. I can’t believe that it's come so soon! Any day now I will be an aunty. Can’t wait!

Here’s Sarah baking our perogies.

Our Weekend

We started out Friday going swimming with the youth group and ended off at Dairy Queen. They had stayed open late just for us so it was nice to have the whole place to ourselves. I had to take a picture of John's new hat. Great for the cold Alberta winters... I'm hoping to get one for Christmas :)

Onto Saturday...John's Birthday! We spent the day shopping in Cold lake and headed to Boston Pizza for a birthday meal.

Auntie Lois came up to celebrate the day and go shopping too.

Saturday night Brad and Sarah showed up with Hudson. They were heading to Edmonton for baby supplies (only 4 more weeks)!! So on Sunday we got the pleasure of watching Hudson :)

I'm surprised I actually got a picture of him sitting nicely. He was usually following Emmett everywhere!

aww...such good friends :)

Hope you all have a great week! Thanks for all the comments!

My dad's retirement

This weekend our family threw a retirement party for my dad. He retired from being a radio dj and program director for 33 years. My mom bought Jason, Sarah, and I plane tickets to surprise my dad for the weekend. The evening was definitely a success and lots of fun celebrating my dad's career.

Here's a funny picture that I found of my dad while he was on a Youth Mexico Missions Trip. I thought it was pretty funny and appropriate for a retirement post :)

Our decorating for the party was influenced by the 70’s carpet that they used to have at CJIB (the radio station). The colors were red, orange, yellow and black. It looked awesome! We also had records all up on the walls and old CJIB/Kiss FM shirts hung everywhere.

Jason was the main MC for the night and was goofing around while we were decorating.

Mom and Dad Cutting the cake

We had found my dad's first audition tape and played it for everyone to hear. He sounded SO different then he does now! It was pretty funny, and my dad was quite embarrassed :)

My dad getting to smash an alarm clock because he'll never have to wake up to the annoying beeping again...lucky guy :)

Friends of our family Tony and Debbie made the traditional chocolate bar card. We usually get one for birthdays and big celebrations!

Happy Retirement Dad!

Trip To Edmonton

Sarah and I made a trip to Edmonton this weekend to go shopping with my mom and Shelley who had come up on the bus with the youth group. My mom had booked Sarah and I a hotel room at the Mayfield Inn. It was an enormous room with a king size bed and huge jaccuzi tub! We took pictures to rub it in our husbands faces...especially the fact that we didn't have to watch any sports!! It was a great weekend and it was so nice to see our friends, even if it was only for a short visit. And of course, it was nice to shop for stuff that had nothing to do with house renovations :)

Thankfulness

Sorry this post is a little overdue :)
Thanksgiving was great this year. My family came up to Alberta, well those that don't already live here! We spent Friday and Saturday in Lloyd and then headed back to Bonnyville for Sunday and Monday. It was amazing having company in our house, and putting our newly renovated kitchen to good use. There is so much to be thankful for!

My sisters and I showing off the yummy turkey my mom made.

The boys doing what boys do at best...eat and sleep:)

Just Joking :)

Jason, Darcie and Jackson couldn't make it to AB this year. So Shelley made this sign...

We miss you guys!

Brad and Sarah brought their dog Hudson and Emmett was very excited to have a friend to play with. Hudson giving Emmett some kisses.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Another eventful weekend in our lives has passed…
Friday night we headed to Cold lake to finally buy our sink!! $360.00 later, we hopped back into the car and headed to McDonald’s for a quick, cheap supper :) On our way, we drove past Boston Pizza and Josh pulled in saying he wanted pizza instead. I didn’t mind... I always love to eat out with Josh so I went along thinking nothing was different. We get into Boston Pizza and I find out my friends had planned a surprise birthday dinner for me! I’m usually pretty good at guessing surprises, but they totally got me on this one! Since I didn’t know about it, I had left my camera at home so I don’t have any pictures to show… But it was lots so fun!
Then Saturday was spent renovating our house. We got so much accomplished and now I finally have a sink!! HALLELUIAH!! I never thought I would be so happy to do dishes :)
Also most of the kitchen is now finished…we still don’t have backsplash yet, so I’ll wait till we have that to show you pictures. But here is my fancy new shiny sink…

I know, it's just a sink, but when you haven't had one for a few months you really appreciate these things :)
John also came over for the day and helped renovate. Here he is putting our tile in by our front door. It looks so good!
Then on Sunday Brad and Sarah arrived to stay the night before moving into their new home in Lloydminster!! I was so happy to see them, and see Sarah's growing belly. We enjoyed a nice relaxing evening and then headed on Lloyd on Monday to help them move in.

Now we're busy finishing off the rest of the house for when Brad, Sarah, Shelley, and my parents come for Thanksgiving. Can't wait!

Party Time

Yesterday, I turned 23...don't feel any different though :) I love birthdays, mine or someone else's. I just love how we have a day to celebrate someone's life.
Josh spoiled me and walked in the door with a beautiful bouquet of red roses. Then gave me some dishes from Princess house that will be perfect to use for Thanksgiving because my family is coming to our house this year!

I also got a beautiful bouquet of flowers from John and Tammy. They surprised me by sending them to me at work.

Josh took me out for a fabulous dinner and then we did some shopping. We grabbed a McCain's frozen cake (one of my favorites) to eat when we got home. Emmett wanted to share in the birthday fun :)

My wonderful husband.

As you can see, I had a lot of fun on blogger last night editing my blog. In the end, I only changed some colors but I like it better...

Well I've decided it's about time to post some pictures of our house. No, it's not yet finished but I just won't show you pictures of our kitchen. The countertops are supposed to be in this weekend, so I'll post the kitchen when it's looking a little better :)
So here are the before and after pictures. Note: The before pictures are taken when we first saw the house. So the other people were still living in it with all their stuff.
