Well here is an update for all who read our blog....

Our house reno's still aren't finished, one of the reasons being we still don't have countertops! We ordered them over 7 weeks ago, and our patience is running a little low cause they told us we would have them in 3 to 4 weeks. So having no countertops, means having no sink, which in turn means having very quick easy meals with the least amount of dishes. Thankfully I have a husband who's favorite meal is Kraft Dinner, so I think I'm still safe :)
We're starting to get busier with fall quickly approaching. We'll be helping with the youth group again this year, which should be lots of fun. Our church has been blessed with a youth pastor (finally!!) so we're very excited to see where God will take our group this year through Morgan and Joelle.
We've also been leading a College and Career group through our church, which is starting up again for the year. We had some people over at our house last night to hang out, eat, and talk about the upcoming year. good times...




Our friend Matt also brought over his dog, Timmy. He's about a quarter of the size of Emmett but thinks he's bigger and tougher than him. It was pretty cute to see them wrestle cause Timmy was all over Emmett. I think Emmett was just happy to have another dog to play with...

Reno's

Even Emmett wanted to try...well ok, he didn't like it too much but he's still pretty cute :)

Our house is still coming along, if anyone is wondering why I haven't posted pictures yet. It's still in the "in between" stage so I'll post pictures when it's all finished. It's been a slow process, and I can't wait till I have my own kitchen again. Maybe now that the weather is getting a little cooler, we'll be forced to stay inside. :)

Our Long Weekend

Josh and I had a very memorable long weekend. We spent Saturday to Monday out at our church's family camp, playing fun games, and enjoying great fellowship with everyone . The highlight was on Sunday when Josh and 5 other people were baptized in the lake. It is always so encouraging to see fellow believers take a step in their walk with God, and declare to everyone how they want to live for Him. The service was amazing and it was great that many of Josh's family were there to share in the joyous occasion.

A couple of our youth also got baptized which was very exciting. One of the girls requested we sing Brian Doerksen's, "The River" as she walked out into the water. It was a very emotional moment.

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

For Jason and Darcie

Emmett has been our dog for a couple months and it's been so much fun! Here are some pictures and stories to show his funny personality.


When we first got Emmett, we brought him home from Vernon to find that we also had a momma cat with her kittens living under our shed. Emmett didn't have a very friendly greeting from the momma cat one day, and was freaked out of our shed for the next few weeks. Here is Josh trying to get the kitties to come close, but Emmett wouldn't go any further.

We have also found that Emmett loves to chew things when he is left alone for the day. Thankfully we haven't had anything too important that's been wrecked, well Josh might disagree. The other day we opened up the garage to find Josh's childhood cabbage patch kid, Sammy, was torn to pieces. I was actually quite happy with Emmett because no joke, this doll freaked me out. It looked like a doll in a horror movie. I guess Emmett agreed :)

We were out with our College and Career Group at Josh's grandparents cabin last week. We brought Emmett out to run around and Josh found this frog. We let Emmett play with him for a while and then Rachel got this picture. I'm pretty sure Emmett was more scared of the frog then the frog was of him. No surprise there, Emmett is definitely a wimp :)


Overall, Emmett has been a lot of fun and brings many laughs to our house. Thanks Jason and Darcie for letting us have him while your away in Toronto. We miss you guys and hope the move went well!!

Happy Birthday Rachel

Rachel is leaving for Germany today for another year so we had a little early birthday celebration last night.
