Lillian's Party

Last night we threw a party for our friend Lillian. We’ve been blessed by her and all that she does for us. She’s thrown me and my friends surprise parties, planted a surprise flower garden in my front yard, dropped off potatoes on my deck for the winter…and the list goes on. She has been such a blessing in our lives, so Jesseca, Charity, and I decided that we should throw a “We love Lillian” party to show how much we appreciate her. We decided to have a cowboy themed party and we all dressed up like cowboys and cowgirls. It was so much fun!

Charity was our Sheriff. She made sure we didn't get too rowdy :)

I must be the favorite sibling…Look what Sarah made for me when we came to visit this weekend.

HOMEMADE PEROGIES!
(My mouth waters every time I see this picture)

Josh and I made a trip this past weekend to visit with Sarah and Brad…probably the last before the baby comes. I can’t believe that it's come so soon! Any day now I will be an aunty. Can’t wait!

Here’s Sarah baking our perogies.

Our Weekend

We started out Friday going swimming with the youth group and ended off at Dairy Queen. They had stayed open late just for us so it was nice to have the whole place to ourselves. I had to take a picture of John's new hat. Great for the cold Alberta winters... I'm hoping to get one for Christmas :)

Onto Saturday...John's Birthday! We spent the day shopping in Cold lake and headed to Boston Pizza for a birthday meal.

Auntie Lois came up to celebrate the day and go shopping too.

Saturday night Brad and Sarah showed up with Hudson. They were heading to Edmonton for baby supplies (only 4 more weeks)!! So on Sunday we got the pleasure of watching Hudson :)

I'm surprised I actually got a picture of him sitting nicely. He was usually following Emmett everywhere!

aww...such good friends :)

Hope you all have a great week! Thanks for all the comments!

My dad's retirement

This weekend our family threw a retirement party for my dad. He retired from being a radio dj and program director for 33 years. My mom bought Jason, Sarah, and I plane tickets to surprise my dad for the weekend. The evening was definitely a success and lots of fun celebrating my dad's career.

Here's a funny picture that I found of my dad while he was on a Youth Mexico Missions Trip. I thought it was pretty funny and appropriate for a retirement post :)

Our decorating for the party was influenced by the 70’s carpet that they used to have at CJIB (the radio station). The colors were red, orange, yellow and black. It looked awesome! We also had records all up on the walls and old CJIB/Kiss FM shirts hung everywhere.

Jason was the main MC for the night and was goofing around while we were decorating.

Mom and Dad Cutting the cake

We had found my dad's first audition tape and played it for everyone to hear. He sounded SO different then he does now! It was pretty funny, and my dad was quite embarrassed :)

My dad getting to smash an alarm clock because he'll never have to wake up to the annoying beeping again...lucky guy :)

Friends of our family Tony and Debbie made the traditional chocolate bar card. We usually get one for birthdays and big celebrations!

Happy Retirement Dad!
